Nigel Shepherd
President
Nigel is the Partner and founder of CNC. Nigel is a former national partner at Ernst & Young in San Jose in the technology assurance practice serving clients such as Apple, ARM Holdings, BEA Systems, Cisco, Genentech, Intel, Microsoft, Qualcomm and Texas Instruments.
Nigel founded the Contract Risk Services practice at Ernst & Young, which focused on recovering revenues from license and royalty agreements in addition to recovering over billings related to vendor management issues. He also led fraud and forensic assignments. Nigel has served as a fact witness in patent dispute cases and has co-authored white papers on licensing audit activities.
Prior to Ernst & Young, Nigel worked with a Fortune 10 company in its Executive Management Rotation Program in budgeting, forecasting, expense management and internal controls development. Nigel is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Accountant and graduated with a Masters in Business Administration from York University.

Edgar Ooms
Vice President
Edgar is a Senior Manager at CNC and has been with the firm since its inception. He has over 12 years of internal control and audit, assurance and advisory, and accounting experience; 4 of those were with a “Big Four” accounting firm in its royalty audit practice. Edgar has a wealth of experience leading complex audits in the technology sector, and has conducted in excess of 100 royalty audits in 35 countries on 6 continents during the course of his career.
Edgar is a native of the Netherlands where he graduated from the University of Arnhem and Nijmegen with a BS in Business Administration with specializations in Accounting, Finance and Law.
